Maarten Smit is an international business development specialist with over 15 years of experience in project and business development, international marketing, chain management, agribusiness, feasibility studies, information systems and country development programs.

He obtained his BSc degree majoring in agricultural economics and his Master’s degree in International Agricultural Production and Marketing Management. As a freelance business development specialist he lived and worked in Indonesia for many years.

From 2006 - 2010 he worked as a senior international project manager for a leading Dutch plant production and agribusiness advisory firm, DLV Plant. He initiated, advised and managed agricultural projects in countries, such as Moldova, Serbia, Croatia, Russia, China, Eritrea, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates.

He founded GMBS in 2010 to facilitate the development of Asian emerging economies. Mr. Smit can rely on an extensive network of international government and private sector partners, to provide customised technological sourcing and project development solutions in the fields of agri-water-energy.

As an expert in water in the broader sense of the word, Mr. Teunissen has gained extensive experience in the design, development, implementation and supervision of water treatment and aquaculture projects. He carries under his belt the successful realization of more than 60 municipal and industrial waste water treatment projects (WWTP).

As a project director on a diverse range of water related projects, he was responsible for all relevant logistics, management and coordination regarding the on-time delivery of equipment and services.

Mr. Teunissen is a respected trainer and holds a B.Sc. degree in Tropical Agriculture, specializing in animal production and aquaculture, and a Master of Science title in Aquaculture, obtained from Wageningen University, The Netherlands.

His international experience covers, other than the whole of Western Europe, countries ranging from Macau to Angola and from Morocco to Thailand and Indonesia. With his more than 16 years of experience in water treatment technological solutions, complimented with his warm, pragmatic and empathic approach in working with his clients; Mr. Teunissen is always looking for looking for cost-effective technological solutions that are sustainable and user-friendly in its kind.
